A Look Back at Our Break
Well, my two weeks of bliss are over. Dad returned to work today, so we no longer have him 24/7. The kids go back to school tomorrow, and we will return to our regular routine. I love having everyone home, so I am sad that our break is over.

Here are some of the fun things we did during the past two weeks:

1) We went to the movies. Can you believe that all four of us have NEVER gone to a movie together? Sure, the kids have seen lots of movies, but we've never gone as a family (I usually take the kids when dad travels for work). Last week, we all went to see Tangled together. We even bought a refillable popcorn bucket that we can use all next year. This was a fun afternoon (even though this picture isn't the greatest).

2) We played games. My Best Girl got S'Match for Christmas, and we played some favorites as well. I think this is one of the best ways to spend family time.

3)We played with Legos. Both kids got Legos for Christmas. My Favorite Boy really enjoyed building the Sears Tower after visiting there earlier this year.

4)Craft projects. My Best Girl was excited to find several craft kits under the tree. She made these magnets for our fridge. My Favorite Boy doesn't like anything crafty, but he got Fatheads to hang on his wall (I think these are atrocious, but he LOVES them). Fatheads are normally $100 (are you kidding me?), but these two Fatheads were only $6 because the players are on different teams now. My Favorite Boy doesn't care about that; he thinks these are cool.

5)Video games. We normally have a time limit for video games, but during Christmas, the kids enjoyed extra hours. Some of that time was spent with the DS. Other time was with the Xbox and Wii. Oreo tried to participate with the Wii game, but all she accomplished was looking cute.

I am so thankful for the two weeks we spent together. I guess we'll have to enjoy our family time in smaller doses for a little while!
