Is it Really May?
Wow. Somehow we've ended up with only 9 1/2 days of school left in the year! How is that even possible? I can't believe my Favorite Boy only has one more year of elementary school. It seems like I could walk into his kindergarten class, and he would still be there.
We've been going like crazy--the end of the school year is almost as bad as the Christmas rush! My Favorite Boy is in the middle of his baseball season. He is really enjoying his team this year. He is also participating in a tackle football camp this week, and I am happy to report that he has decided he does not want to play tackle football. He's been begging to play for years, but we've always said no because the tackle football league in our area is a HUGE time commitment (practice every day for the first three weeks, and then practice three times a week PLUS a game on Saturday for several months). Because he plays on a travel baseball team, we are used to busy sports schedules, but that seems excessive to us! Thankfully, after a few days of tackle camp, he decided that basketball and baseball are the sports for him, and we are just fine with that!
My Best Girl is having a great softball season, and she is about to perform in her first musical. She will be participating in The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley at a local theater next week. All the participants are 7-9 years old, and she has had so much fun with the rehearsals. She has also developed more confidence. I can't wait to watch her on the stage!
My husband and I enjoyed a fantastic vacation last week. We went on a Disney cruise WITHOUT OUR CHILDREN to celebrate 15 years of marriage (nine months late), and it was wonderful. I'll share more about that soon!
