October Disney Trip, Days 5 and 6
On Wednesday morning, we headed back to Hollywood Studios. We were the first family at the turnstiles, and my Favorite Boy helped the cast member test out the scanner. He was the first person into the park, and he thought this was very cool. He got to stand inside the park while we waited five more minutes for the official opening.
My Favorite Boy is our Fastpass master. He headed to Toy Story Mania with the mob to get our Fastpasses, and my Best Girl, Perry, and I waited for him.
After Rock-N-Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror, we went back to visit with Phineas and Ferb. The kids had their t-shirts on, and my Best Girl wanted to show them the Perry she had purchased.
We also stopped in for a visit with Mike and Sulley.
We spent the morning enjoying Hollywood Studios and then headed to the Winter Summerland mini-golf course. We chose the Summer version this time and thoroughly enjoyed our 18 holes.
For dinner, we headed to Epcot to eat with Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale at the Garden Grill. My Best Girl received more birthday wishes, and we all enjoyed the food and characters. (Can you tell the difference between Chip and Dale? Chip has a black nose like a chocolate chip. Dale is pictured below.)
On Thursday morning, we headed to Blizzard Beach. It was only in the 60s, but we enjoy the water parks so much, we thought we would give it a try. HA! We shivered from one slide to another and called it quits after an hour. It was so cold! We headed back to the resort for lunch and a rest before the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.
The Halloween Party was one of the highlights of our trip. We had such a good time! We got to Magic Kingdom in time to visit a few attractions before dinner at the Crystal Palace. (We wore modified Incredibles outfits because I didn't think the kids would be comfortable in full costumes. Some people went all out with costumes. The Incredible shirts worked well for us, but the kids would have enjoyed being dressed up more.)
We always look forward to a meal with Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore. I had ordered a point and shoot camera from amazon after my camera broke, and it had arrived the day before. We were able to use it at the party and indoors for the rest of the trip. My Best Girl enjoyed taking pictures with it, so my Favorite Boy started taking pictures with his iPod touch. They showed off their photography skills to the characters.
After dinner, we went to Big Thunder Mountain and the Haunted Mansion. I love these pictures on Big Thunder. Even though the point and shoot couldn't quite keep up with the action, the expressions on the kids' faces show their enthusiasm, and the pics are a great reflection of my Best Girl's personality.
A ghost joined us for our picture at the Haunted Mansion.
It was time for the party! We got trick-or-treat bags and started collecting candy all over the park. The kids loved this!
After trick-or-treating for a little while, we claimed our spot for the Boo-To-You Parade. This parade is amazing, and it was one of our favorite events all week. It starts with the Headless Horseman...(this is a Disney pic from my Photopass CD).
After the parade, we trick-or-treated more and then claimed a spot for the fireworks (another Disney pic).
As soon as the fireworks ended, we grabbed a spot for the villain show. We wanted to meet Maleficent, so we stood in the area where she would be. We were so excited to be first in line. This allowed us to meet her, and then we also were able to see Gaston and Jafar.

Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye were hosting a dance party, so we dropped in to say hello.
At this point, it was 10:45. I wanted to see Pooh and friends, so we headed back towards the entrance. When we got to the end of Main Street, we noticed that the waits for Mickey/Minnie and the princesses weren't too bad, so we stopped to visit them as well. You can only meet the princes at the parties, so my Best Girl was very excited about this. Even my Favorite Boy, who normally doesn't care about the princesses, didn't mind joining in on the fun when the princes were involved.
We wrapped up the evening by saying hello to the gang from the 100 Acre Woods. They looked so cute in their costumes! At 11:45, we excited the park, exhausted but happy. I couldn't believe the kids were able to make it so late (particularly my Best Girl), but they did, and we had an amazing time!
