Graduation
I am excited to say that I graduated from the Couch to 5K program! Yesterday, I ran 3 miles in 34:55. Yes, that's pretty slow, but since I don't think I have ever run three miles without stopping, I am pretty excited!
As much as I enjoyed last night's run, the best part came later. I often tell my Best Girl stories, and I start by saying, "Once there was a sweet little girl with blonde hair and pretty blue eyes..." Last night she said, "Mom, I want to tell you a story: Once, there was a mom with pretty blue eyes. She ran and ran. She got better and better, and she never gave up. She's awesome. The end."
That little story was worth all the hard work, the shin splints and the other forms of pain that I have dealt with over the past nine weeks!

Oh wow. =) And I bet you weren't even wearing accessories when she said that!
How heart-ful does THAT make a mom feel!?
Grinning (and she's not even MY daughter!)
Oh, that made me tear up a little!! How incredibly sweet your daughter is. :)
Glad to be back to reading your blog! Good job with the running! I have always hated running too! Maybe I should do that program?! LOVED reading the DIsney posts! I can't wait to go at xmas time! Good seeing you the other day.

Congratulations! How awesome that you've completed the program and are getting ready for your 5K! :) And such a sweet story, you need to whip out a video camera and get her to repeat that one over and over, LOL!
Congratulations! BG's story was so sweet!
That's the most precious story! I'm so happy that she was able to find a way to tell you how proud of you she is!
BTW - I ran my first 5K today - 35.09 minutes. We need to run together. It looks like we are right on par with each other.
Congrats! And I love the story!!
BTW, I couldn't find your blog the other day and my google reader hasn't been picking your posts up! :( I'm behind on your blog!
It took me longer than 9 weeks to finish, you did awesome! I had to repeat some weeks, multiple times. :)
