10K
I am excited to say that I met another running goal on Saturday morning. While it was still dark, I crept out of my warm bed and snuck out into the cold. Since I am one who detests being cold, leaving my comfy bed was an accomplishment by itself. By the time I arrived at the 10K race in Nashville, it was sunny, but still a chilly 33 degrees.
I have been having knee issues, so I questioned whether or not I should participate (I may regret it Sunday). Since I am very goal oriented, I really wanted to follow through with my plan, so I lined up at the start, knee pain and all. Although my knee hurt the entire 6.2 miles, I am happy to say that I finished the 10K in 1:09:19. My goal was to finish in less than 1:15, so I was pleased with this time. The course included some very steep hills, so this added to my sense of joy when I was able to meet my time goal.
With the exception of my knee, I feel great, so I am hopeful my knee will start cooperating. I am pretty sure I have bursitis, but I am going to get it checked out on Tuesday. I do not want anything to keep me from my half-marathon goal!

I stand in awe. Not moving. Just standing. In awe.
Ice, Lauren, ice! Also, ibuprofen. Those are your friends! Good job on the 10K! Disney here we come!
Yay for you! I'm so impressed! I hope your knee is feeling better now and I know it felt good to finish and make your goal.
I did my 5k about a week or so ago, still slow! 33:29 this time but about 3 minutes faster than the one I did in the spring. :)
