Some Facts about Me
I used my food processor to shred a block of cheese last week so we could have freshly shredded cheese without preservatives. Up until this time, the only thing I had used my food processor for was to chop Oreos. I guess that's a clue about my former eating priorities.
I also sifted flour for the first time last week. Hooray! I am learning how to cook!
I am so sad that summer is coming to an end. For one thing, I like having my kids home with me. For another, I love hot weather. I really, really, really, despise being cold, so the end of summer means cooler weather is coming.
I have a wonderful husband. Out of the blue last week, he said, "Let's get you and the kids annual passes to Disney World. I'll go with you some, and the three of you can go as many times as we can fit in one year." Either he really loves us, or he's trying to get us out of the house for a while. :)
My house is relatively clean (for the next two hours or so). My kids went to my parents' house for a few days this week, and I spent my free time going to the doctor and cleaning (a pedicure would have been much more fun). For now, I feel like things are decently in order...until the tornado, otherwise known as my Best Girl, arrives home (you are sure to see her on that show "Hoarders" one day).
And there you have a few updates about my life (whether you wanted them or not). Have a wonderful weekend!

Ok, any husband who offers to buy an annual pass for his family to go to Disney World earns brownie points! Of course, those would ultra healthy brownie points, sweetened with agave or something like that. But that IS pretty cool!
My favorite kind of blog post! I have a tiny food processor that has a blender attachment, and no fancy blades for shredding cheese and such. If I shred cheese, I get out a block grater and get a good workout while asking myself, why did I not just buy preshredded cheese?! What kind of food processor do you have and what size?
It doesn't feel like summer is coming to an end here this weekend! 99 right now, heat index 109. Ugh. I'm happy for some cooler weather, any time now :)
Annual passes sounds awesome! Do you guys usually stay on the property or elsewhere when you go?
I saw about 10 seconds of an episode of Hoarders one time... I realized that maybe I am not as bad as I previously thought! :)
Good blog post! I did learn something from your blog post the other day... I had NO clue they put stuff on shredded cheese! I've always been a cheese Nazi and ALSO shredded my own cheese for pizzas and casseroles until last month when we started buying the HUGE 5lb bags of cheese. It was cheaper to buy the big bags than small hunks of the cheese from WalMart. Whelp! Now I'm scared to buy the shredded stuff!!!
Ooh, I need to stow away with you to go to Disney! How nice of your hubby!
How are you storing your shredded cheese to keep it from clumping?
Yay for Disney passes! Enjoy!
