My Favorite Boy is out of school for fall break (last Friday through this Wednesday). On Friday, my hubby took a day off as well so that we could enjoy some family fun. We decided to head to my hubby's hometown where they were having a goat festival. We had never been to a goat festival, but as the name suggests, we saw a lot of these...

The kids really enjoyed going up to the pens to check out the goats. This spotted breed was my favorite.

The goats were very friendly. Sometimes they were a little too friendly, and the kids felt the need to back up a little bit.

My Best Girl started waving to the goats. None of them waved to her, but this didn't stop my Best Girl from trying. :) She liked getting up close and personal.

She also talked to the goats, and some of them did talk back (in goat language, of course). She thought this was hilarious.


My Favorite Boy enjoyed the festival, but the highlight of his day came later. We went to Grandma and Papa Don's house for dinner, and then my Favorite Boy and his daddy went to see the high school team play football. My Favorite Boy loved this! Dad's alma mater won 42-0, so my Favorite Boy got to see plenty of offense. Too bad I wasn't there to take pictures because my husband said that my Favorite Boy was doing a lot of yelling and cheering. :)

We had a great Friday, and we are so thankful for fun, family days like these. I hope your weekend was wonderful as well. Come back tomorrow for a book review. I will be giving the book away to one of you!
