We have new neighbors. They have two daughters and one son (ages 9, 6, and 5). Amazingly, they were friends with my hubby's sister and her family in another state. When they recently moved into our town, they bought the house next door to us. What a small world!

It didn't take our new neighbors long to realize that my daughter likes to dress up like princesses, particularly Snow White. As they were unpacking, they found an Ariel dress that was too small for their girls. My Best Girl was more than willing to take it off their hands! Now, it seems Snow White is no longer number one around here. Ariel is my Best Girl's new favorite.


This morning, my Best Girl asked if we could play Ariel. She, of course, would be Ariel; her daddy would be King Triton. Then she said, "Mommy, you can be the big, mean, and ugly one."

Great. She wanted to play The Little Mermaid, and the first character that came to mind when she thought of me was Ursula the Sea Witch. Maybe I need to work on my parenting style. :)
